The sealed series was created for the Triton Museum of Art (Santa Clara, CA). Inspired by the exploration of his pysche, the artist is attempting to bring both conformity and individuality into one body of work. The conformity comes from creating the same object many times over, much like the days of our life. We spend our time eating, sleeping, mating and defending. Somewhere inside of these processes lies our own creative mind. The individuality is expressed in the sculptural elements that adorn the tops of each piece. These elements were created without any preconceived thought, they are merely an expression of movement and freedom, much like our subconscious that guides us through our mundane daily lives, often knowing and unknowing. |
